Sometimes the best stories in life don’t come from big plans or grand adventures.
Sometimes they come from a simple night out.
Michelle and I were sitting in a restaurant recently, enjoying a nice meal and a little time together. Nothing fancy — just a good evening, good food, and a chance to slow down from the busy pace of everyday life.
At a nearby table were three young women. They were laughing, talking, and clearly enjoying their evening as well.
Before long, something funny was said between the tables, and just like that a conversation started.
Now normally when you go out to dinner, you expect to stay at your table and they stay at theirs. But sometimes life has a way of breaking those little invisible barriers we all put up.
Before long we were all talking — just casual conversation. Where people were from, what brought them out that night, sharing a few laughs.
What struck me most wasn’t anything dramatic.
It was simply how natural it felt.

In a world where so many people are glued to their phones, it was refreshing to see something different.
Real conversation.
Real laughter.
No politics. No arguments. No social media debates.
Just people enjoying a moment together.
Moments like that remind me that despite everything we hear about division in the world, most people are actually pretty good when you sit down and talk with them.
